Lightning Men’s Soccer Top Bard College In Overtime

Box Score New Paltz, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's soccer team got back on the winning track on Saturday by defeating Bard College of Liberty League, 1-0, in sudden death overtime, at SUNY New Paltz's South Turf Field.  The victory improved the Lightning's record to 2-1, while Raptors fall to 2-2 on season.

After a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation and Lehman outshooting Bard 14-6 (12-5 on goal), the encounter went to overtime and was decided just three minutes in when junior forward Maissa Dieye headed home the game-winner, off a corner kick from freshman midfielder Jason Tinoco

Junior goalkeeper Chris Mulholland had five saves for Lehman to earn his second clean slate of the season.

The Lightning will take on hosts New Paltz Hawks of State University of New York Athletic Conference tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon at 3 pm.  The Hawks are 3-1 this season after dropping a 2-1 decision to New York University on Saturday.
