Box Score Throggs Neck, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team posted its first victory of the season by defeating hosts Maritime College of Skyline Conference, 3-1, at Reinhart Field on Thursday evening. The Lightning improved to a 1-0-1 ledger, while the Privateers fall to 0-1.
Lehman, which outshot Maritime 17-4 (10-3 on goal), took a 1-0 lead four minutes before halftime with a goal from sophomore forward

Daisy Gomez doubled the Lightning's lead with a tally in the 69th minute-mark, before freshman defender
Micaela Canapa notched her first collegiate goal five minutes later for a 3-0 advantage.
The Privateers, who have not won in their last nine overall matches going back to 2017 season, avoided the shutout with a tally from junior defender Kayla Kelly in 87th minute.
The victory was also the first for Lehman at Reinhart Field since 2015 as it extended its unbeaten streak against Maritime to five games.
The Lightning return to South Field next Tuesday (Sept. 11
th) to hosts another Skyline Conference opponent Sarah Lawrence at 6 pm.
