New York, NY - The Lehman College men's and women's swimming teams fell to Baruch tonight in a CUNYAC dual meet. The Lightning men (4-4:1-2) fell 103-83 and the women (4-6:1-3) were defeated 97-73 in a meet contested at the ARC Aquatic Center on the Baruch campus. It was the first time in almost a month that the Lehman swim teams competed in a meet.
On the women's side, Sarina Eshtiaghi continued her stellar season winning the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:21.76. She also won the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:10.89. Paola Gonzalez posted a 1:31.32 to win the 100 breaststroke. The 200 freestyle relay squad of Arizbeth Alvarez, Diwa Rana, Gonzalez, and Arlette Garcia-Estudillo also prevailed in a time of 2:44.66.
On the men's side, Christopher Fischer prevailed in the 200 freestyle posting a time of 2:10.54. Fischer also stood atop the podium after the 100 freestyle posting a time of 58.29. In the 400 freestyle Ryan Sanchez took the top spot with a time of 5:15.55. Anton Kyrylenko prevailed in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:15.86. The 200 freestyle relay squad of Raymond Burdier, Hugo Barrera, Juan Rodriguez, and Sanchez posted a time of 2:05.84 to claim the top spot.
Lehman returns to action on Saturday as they host the Pioneers of William Paterson.
