Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball dropped a CUNYAC encounter, 68-40, on Saturday, during Homecoming, against John Jay College at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning fall to 1-16 record and 1-8 in CUNYAC, while the Bloodhounds improve to 9-7 ledger and 5-4 in conference play.
Lehman edged John Jay in shooting percentage (35% to 32%) despite trailing 37-24 at the intermission. In the third quarter the Lightning held its own and were outshot by only three points, however, the Bloodhounds closed out the last period with a 21 to 9 run for the victory.
Forward
Eriadna Vasquez scored a career-high 19 points for Lehman, while grabbing eight rebounds. Forward Selima Sangare also had a Lightning best notching in 13 points.
Lehman returns to action next Wednesday (January 23
rd) when it travels to Brooklyn to take on CUNYAC rival Medgar Evers College at 7 pm.
