For the second game in a row Eriadna Vasquez paced the Lightning, equaling her career high 19 points and grabbing a career high 22 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Lehman College women's basketball team fell to host Medgar Evers 66-44.
The Cougars scored the first six points of the contest before the Lightning went on a 9-0 and led at the end of the first 12-8. After each team scored eight points in the second quarter the teams went into the locker room at halftime with the Lightning owning a 20-16 lead.
In the third quarter it was all Cougars as MEC scored the first 10 points of the quarter, outscoring Lehman 27-6 in the quarter taking a 43-26. The Lightning never threatened in the fourth.
Salima Sangare tallied 15 in the losing effort.
It was the first win of the season for the Cougars who now stand at 1-18:1-9. Lehman falls to 1-17:1-9.
The Lightning return home on Friday night to face York. Tip-off is slated for 5 PM.
