A three-quarter court shot by
Miguel Haboosh propelled the Lightning (7-12:5-7) to a 61-58 OT victory over host Brooklyn (12-8:7-4) to give Lehman a well-deserved win, snapping a three game skid.
Haboosh, who was questionable to play tonight, came off the bench to lead Lehman with 15 points.
Andre Hampton recorded a double double adding 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Brooklyn built a four point lead in the extra period but back-to-back field goals by
Will Feldman and
Xavier Boyd (three-pointer) gave the Lightning a one point edge with :27 to play.  A pair of free throws by
Angel Nunez extended the lead to three with 11 ticks on the clocks.  Seven seconds later Brooklyn's Jade Spencer drained a three pointer to knot the game.  However, Haboosh was able to launch a 70 foot shot as time expired, that somehow found the bottom of the net giving the Lightning the win.
The Lightning briefly held the lead early in the first half as Lehman started the game on a 5-0 run.  But eight minutes into the contest the game was tied at nine.  A 5-2 run by the Lightning the final 6:23 of the half gave Lehman a 22-19 lead at intermission.
An 8-0 Bulldog run to start the second half gave Brooklyn the lead  27-22.  The Lightning battled back taking the lead 38-37 on a Hampton three with 8:49 to play.  From there the game went back and forth and Haboosh hit a jumper with  :41 seconds that tied the game.  Brooklyn had two chances at the end of regulation but could not find the range.
The Lightning return home Friday night to host the Hawks of Hunter College at 7 PM.
