Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team fell 74-30 to visiting Kean University in a non-conference encounter, to commence 2019 part of the hoopsters' season, at The APEX Main Gym on Thursday evening. The Lightning drop to 1-10 record, while the Cougars improve to 6-7 mark.
Lehman jumped out to a seven point lead and held Kean scoreless for the opening three and half minutes of the first quarter.
The Cougars then outscored the Lightning 15 to 6 to take a two point advantage at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Kean when on a 21 to 4 run to increase its lead to 36-17 at the intermission.
The Cougars never trailed since the opening minutes of the first period and led by as many as 45 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the victory.
Guard
Lisa Fields once again played the entire 40 minutes for the Lightning as she also scored 19 points, with five rebounds and three steals.
Lehman returns to action on Saturday at The APEX when it greets Brooklyn College in CUNYAC match-up at noon.
