Bronx, NY - The Lehman College women's basketball team (1-11:1-3) were upended 74-26 by the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (6-5:3-0) earlier today in a CUNYAC tilt at the APEX.
Brooklyn jumped out to a 14-2 lead eight minutes into the contest and never looked back. The Bulldogs owned a 20-4 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The first five minutes of the second quarter the Lightning played well and were able to hold the Bulldogs at bay. However, Brooklyn was able to go on a 6-2 run to close the half and take a 31 -12 lead into the locker room.
Brooklyn scored the first five points of the second half to extend the lead to 24 points and were never threatened the rest of the way. By the end of the third the Bulldogs had extended the lead to 55-21 and the Lightning were unable to get any closer in the final 10 minutes.
Eriadna Vasquez led the Lightning with nine points.
Lisa Fields added eight.
The Bulldogs were led by Alexandra Moogan's 25 points.
The Lightning return to action on Monday when the travel to Hunter. Brooklyn will host CSI.
