Bronx, NY – Despite 24 points from
Isaiah Geathers and 21 from
Andre Hampton the Lehman College (5-8:8-3) men's basketball team fell 84-79 to the College of Staten Island (10-6:6-1).
With a 25-19 point lead with 6:45 to play in the first half, the Lightning went on an 11-2 run over the next five minutes to take a 36-21 lead. However, the Dolphins went on a 9-2 to close out the half. Three minutes into the second half the Dolphins completed the comeback tying the game at 44. CSI took the lead for good at the 6:50 mark after an Adeola Latunji three-pointer. With the Dolphins leading by two, 71-69, CSI went on an 8-0 run to take a 79-69 advantage with 1:39 to play. Andre Hampton cut the lead to six by Lehman was unable to complete the comeback.
Geathers posted his fifth double double of the season and his third in a row. Hampton's 21 points were a season high. Raheim Grants' 11 points marked the fourth time this season that the junior tallied double figures.
Will Feldman added 10 points and it was his sixth game in double figures.
The Lightning return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Baruch. Tip-off is slated for 4 PM.
