Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped a three-set CUNYAC encounter (10-25, 5-25, 16-25) to visiting John Jay College on Thursday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning fall to 3-18 overall record and 2-4 in CUNYAC, while the Bloodhounds go to 3-12 mark and 1-4 in conference play.
With the score tied 10-10 in the first set, John Jay posted 15 consecutive points to take the opening game. The Bloodhounds continued their dominance into the second set outscoring the Lightning by 20 points for a 2-0 lead in the match.
In the third set, Lehman fought back and cut the visitor's lead to 16-12, however John Jay went on a nine to three run to pull away for its first conference victory of the season.
Franchesca Acevedo had two kills and blocks for the Lightning, while
Ariana Pradieu added five digs and two kills.
Lehman will be back in CUNYAC action next Tuesday when it travels to take on CCNY.
