Bronx, NY – The Lehman College women's tennis team advanced to the CUNYAC Semi Finals with a 5-2 victory over Brooklyn in a match that took two days to play.
The match started Sunday afternoon with the Lightning taking two of the three doubles matches. Also on Sunday the fourth singles match had begun before the rains came. After sitting on a 4-0 lead overnight,
Joanna Rosario continued to dominate going on to win 6-0, 6-0.
Cien Estuye playing in the five hole also won at love to steak the Lightning to a 4-1 lead. Brooklyn cut the deficit to 4-2 with a victory at second singles. The Lightning closed out the match with a victory at third singles as
Celine Figueroa prevailing 6-3, 6-0.
With the victory the Lightning move onto face top seed Hunter on Tuesday.
