Queens, NY - The fourth seed Lightning were eliminated from the CUNYAC Championships as Lehman fell 5-1 to top seeded Hunter in a match contested at Ally Pond Tennis Center in Queens on Tuesday evening.

The Lightning fell behind early as the second and third doubles tandems both fell to Hunter.  Lehman was able to battle back, as the first doubles pairing of Lizaveta Markouskaya and Diwa Rana handled their opponents 8-7 (7-3).   Hunter jumped all over Lehman in singles play as the Hawks won fourth singles at love, third singles 6-0, 7-6 (10-8) and closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at second singles. 

Lehman ends the season with a mark of 9-7.  Hunter improves to 11-1 and will play in the CUNYAC finals against Baruch.  The Bearcats defeated John Jay in the other semi final 5-3.  The finals are slated for Friday afternoon at the national tennis center in Flushing Meadows.
