Bronx, N.Y. – Four Lehman College athletic teams will be action this Saturday as women's soccer and women's volleyball will hosts matches, while men's and women's swimming teams commence its season on the road.
Women's Soccer Hosts Brooklyn
The playoff bound Lightning (3-10; 3-1 CUNYAC) are aiming to secure second seed in the conference postseason when they welcome Bulldogs of Brooklyn College (4-10-1; 2-2 CUNYAC) at South Field on Saturday with kickoff set for 11 am. Lehman is coming off a 2-0 loss to CUNYAC leader John Jay College over the weekend. Meanwhile the Brooklyn dropped a 7-0 decision at home to non-conference rival Kean University this past Wednesday.
The Bulldogs hold a slim 5-4 edge in the head-to-head series against Lightning since 2012, however the Lehman has won three of the last four encounters. The previous meeting between the two sides took place on October 17, 2018 at Brooklyn, with the Lightning posting a 6-1 victory.
Women's Volleyball Has Home Finale Against Sarah Lawrence
The Lightning (4-20) will stage their regular season home finale at The APEX Main Gym when they square off against non-conference opponent Sarah Lawrence College (12-14) with first serve set for 12 pm. Fans unable to come to campus can follow all of the volleyball action online via

Lehman, which already secured a spot into CUNYAC Postseason Tournament next month, is coming off a split Thursday night where the Lightning fell to Valley Forge in four while defeating Medgar Evers in four sets. Meanwhile, Sarah Lawrence dropped a three-set Skyline Conference match at U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (14-25, 13-25, 17-25) this past Wednesday.
The Lightning have a 14-3 head-to-head record against the Gryphons, since 1989. The last meeting between the two sides took place on Oct. 21, 2017 with Lehman defeating hosts Sarah Lawrence, 3-1 (25-13, 22-25, 25-19, 25-15).
Men's, Women's Swimming Compete At SLC/TYR Sprint Carnival
The Lightning will commence their 2019-20 campaign on Saturday when both sides (men's and women's) compete at the SLC/TYR Sprint Carnival event, hosted by Sarah Lawrence, in Bronxville, N.Y. starting at 1 pm.
Last season's CUNYAC Championship MVP, Sarina Eshitaghi will lead Lehman this upcoming campaign.
