Bronx, N.Y. – Five Lehman College athletic teams will be in action on Saturday as women's tennis side is at home, while the squads of women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and women's soccer are on the road.
The Lightning's Saturday action commence when volleyball team (2-14) competes in a non-conference tri-match against hosts St. Joseph's College-LI (5-9) and Albertus Magnus College (6-10) at 10 am and 11:30 am , respectively at Patchogue's Danzi Athletic Center. Lehman will be looking for its first victories against both sides, since 2007. The last time the Lightning faced off against Albertus Magnus Falcons was on September 13, 2018, at The APEX Main Gym, and despite
Eriadna Vasquez's 18-kill performance, hosts lost 3-2 (27-25, 25-22, 10-25, 13-25, 12-15). In the previous match against St. Joseph's Golden Eagles, on October 3, 2018, Lehman dropped three straight sets (14-25, 7-25, 27-29) at home with Vasquez once again leading the offense with six kills.
Also on Saturday, the women's tennis side (4-6; 0-3 CUNYAC) welcomes conference rival Brooklyn College (1-7; 0-3 CUNYAC) at The APEX Courts with first serve set for 12 pm.
The Bulldogs hold a 13-3 head-to-head record against the Lightning, since 2006, however Lehman has won three of the last five encounters. The previous meeting between the two squads took place on Oct. 6, 2018, at Brooklyn College's Roosevelt Tennis Courts, with the hosts winning 5-4.
Joanna Rosario won both her singles and doubles matches for the Lightning.
Elsewhere on Saturday, both Lehman's cross country squads will compete at 12
th Annual MSMC (Mount Saint Mary College-NY) Knight Invitational at Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, N.Y. starting a 12 pm. Last year at the MSMC Invitational, the men's squad finished 13
th, while the women's side took 19
th position.
Rounding out Saturday's action will be the women's soccer squad (3-7) aiming to extend its winning streak to four games as it visits College At Old Westbury (5-5) in a non-conference game set for 2:30 pm at Panther Park. Fans can follow all the soccer action online via

The Lightning have only lost once in the last four head-to-head encounters against the Panthers, since 2012. The last meeting between the two sides took place on Oct. 7, 2018 at South Field, when goals by
Daisy Gomez and
Yosselin Alvarez gave Lehman a 2-0 win.
