The Lehman College women's basketball team dropped their season opener 110-29 to Mary Washington (2-1) in the opening game of the Hyatt Tip-off Tournament.
 
The Eagles scored the first 13 points of the game and never looked back.  Mary Washington owned a 31-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 53-8 advantage at the half.
 
The Lightning were led by newcomer Shanya Gonzalez who scored eight points. Nina Gill added six points and six rebounds.  Valeria Rojas grabbed a team high eight rebounds. 
 
Poor shooting hampered the Lightning offense as Lehman shot 10-52 from the field and only 1-17 from behind the arc. 

Lehman will play in the consolation game of the Hyatt Tip-off Tournament at 12 PM on Saturday against Wesley.  Wesley dropped their game on Friday night to Virginia Wesleyan.
