Purchase, NY - The Lehman College men's and women's swim teams each picked up victories tonight defeating Purchase College. The women won 149-89 while the men prevailed 148-92.
The Lightning women swept the 1000 freestyle as Elizabeth DelaCruz captured first place in a time of 17:59.83 while teammates Paola Gonzalez and Sheila Davila captured second and third place. In the men's 1000 free, Alejandro Carrillo, Chris Ramirez and William Marin Vidals went one, two, three in times of 15:09.78, 17:28.02 and 17:52.94 respectively. Sarina Eshtiaghi took first place in the 200 free in a time of 2:10.02. In the men's 200 free, Cesar Zuniga and Ray Burdier took second and third. Eshtiaghi also captured first place in the 50 back in a time of 30.58. Juan Rodriguez finished second in the 50 back for the men. Lehman captured first in the 50 Breast as Patricia Gonzlaez and Anton Kyrylenko stood atop the podium. Lehman's Christina Hitchman and Burdier prevailed in the 50 freestyle. Rinaldi Hernandez won the 100 free in a time of 1:03.00. The Lightning also took top honors in the 100 Back as Eshtiaghi won on the women's side in a time of 1:11.21 and Daniel O'Neill on the men's side in a time of 1:11.37. In the 100 Breast it was Lehman once again that captured first. Patricia Gonzalez and Kyrylenko won in times of 1:31.70 and 1:10.28 respectively. Zuniga also took first in the 500 free in a time of 6:33.17. Kyrylenko also captured the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:25.39.
The Lightning return to the pool on Saturday with a trip to Danbury, CT to face the Colonials of Western Connecticut St.
