Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's and women's swimming/diving teams will visit Purchase College in a non-conference dual meet on Monday.
Lightning men are 1-0 this season and have not seen action since defeating non-conference opponent College at Old Westbury, 93-60, on November 6
th, while the women's side has a 1-1 mark and is coming off a 111-69 loss to CUNYAC rival Hunter College on Nov. 13
th.
Meanwhile, the men's squad for the Panthers have a 2-3 record, while the women's team is 2-4. Purchase was swept in dual meet by visiting William Paterson University on Nov. 12
th, with men's side falling 94-68 and the women dropped a 96-67 decision.
The Lightning men have won eight consecutive head-to-head dual meets against the Panthers since 2011. In the previous encounter on Nov. 19, 2018, Lehman posted a 92-71 victory at The APEX Pool.
Anton Kyrylenko took the 50 freestyle (24.19), while
Cesar Zuniga claimed first place in 100 butterfly (37.33).
The Panthers women hold a 5-3 advantage in the head-to-head dual match-ups since 2011, however the Lightning have won the last three meetings. In the previous match-up on Nov. 19, 2018, Lehman defeated visiting Purchase, 71-55.
Sarina Eshtiaghi won the 50 freestyle (30.28), 100 backstroke (1:03.89) and 200 individual medley (2:32.08).
Sheila Davila captured the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:53.81, while
Arizbeth Alvarez took first-place in 100 freestyle clocking in at 1:18.27.
