Bronx, N.Y. – After dropping a pair of road encounters last weekend, the Lehman College men's basketball team posted its first victory of the season defeating non-conference opponent Keystone College, 87-84 in overtime, during its home opener at The APEX Main Gym on Wednesday evening. The Lightning improve to 1-2 on the year, while the Giants drop to 1-3 mark.
Lehman took a 40-29 lead into the second half, however Keystone outscored the hosts 47-36 to second the encounter into overtime.
Forward
Isaiah Geathers scored six of his 15 points in the overtime period to pace the Lightning into victory against the Giants. Guard
Gian Batista led Lehman with a career-high 27 points, while Geathers added nine rebounds. Forward
Alex Hanson scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds along with two steals.
Lehman returns to action on Saturday when it travels to take on St. Joseph's College-NY in a non-conference match-up set for 1 pm.
