Bronx, NY – The Lehman College men's basketball team earned a hard fought 71-67 non-conference victory over Mt. St. Mary (1-5).
The Lightning (3-5) found themselves down early but battle back with a strong defensive effort. The final 10 minutes of the first half Lehman limited the Knights to just a pair of free throws with 15 second remaining in the half while scoring 16 to take a 35-28 lead into the locker room. The Knights rallied in the second half tying the game at 51 before Lehman went on a 10-0 run in which
Tommy Batista scored eight of his 10 points to give the Lightning a lead they would not surrender.
Gian Batista paced Lehman with 18 points while
Isaiah Geathers chipped in 17 and
Mo Idrissou 10.
By the Numbers….The Lightning out-rebounded the Knights 43-29. Lehman recorded a season high 28 turnovers.
Lehman is back it on Friday night as they host another Skyline Conference team as Sarah Lawrence invades the APEX. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM.
