Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team fell in its opening semifinal encounter of 14
th edition of Coaches vs. Cancer tournament to visiting St. Joseph's College-LI at The APEX Main Gym on Saturday afternoon. The Lightning drop to 0-9 on the year, while Golden Bears improve to 2-7 mark.
Lehman only trailed 25-17 going into the second quarter however St. Joseph's-LI outscored the hosts 63-47 in the next three periods for the victory.

Nina Gill led the scoring for the Lightning with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while guard
Shanya Gonzalez added 18 points and seven boards. Meanwhile, the Golden Bears were paced by guard Megan Steinman who notched 42 points that included 9 of 18 from three-point range.
Lehman will now face Clark University, which lost to Drew University in the tournament opener on Saturday, 85-59, in the consolation bracket on Sunday at 11 am. The championship game will take place at 1 pm on Sunday between St. Joseph's-LI and Drew.
