Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team dropped its CUNYAC regular season home finale to Baruch College, 60-43, on Monday at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning fall to 1-22 record and 1-14 in CUNYAC, while the Bearcats improve to 7-14 mark and 6-9 in conference play.
Monday's encounter also bid farewell to four seniors –
Lisa Fields,
Chayenne McPherson,
Khadijah Sangare and Selima Sangare, whom played their final regular season home game with Lehman.
The Bearcats jumped out to 36 to 19 lead at the intermission and the Lightning couldn't recover the second half, despite holding the Baruch to just five points in the final 10 minutes of the match.
Selima Sangare notched 16 points while grabbing six rebounds for Lehman. Teammate
Adeeba Cheema scored 10 points with seven boards, while
Khadijah Sangare added seven points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
The Lightning conclude the regular season when they travel to take on CCNY in a CUNYAC match-up this Wednesday at 5 pm.
