Bronx, N.Y. – Two Lehman College athletic teams will be home action this Tuesday as softball squad hosts a non-conference doubleheader against Yeshiva University at South Field with first pitch set for 6 pm, while men's volleyball side takes on visiting Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC match-up in The APEX Main Gym at 7 pm.
The Lightning softball hold a 1-9 overall mark, while the Maccabees are 0-8 this season.
Lehman is coming off consecutive non-conference losses to visiting Drew University at South Field last week (March 20
th). After dropping the opener 7-2, the Lightning were shutout in the nightcap, 11-0. Meanwhile, Yeshiva was swept by hosts St. Joseph's College-NY in a Skyline Conference doubleheader losing both, 8-0 and 9-1, in six and five innings, respectively.
Lehman has won seven of the last eight head-to-head encounters against Yeshiva since 2014. In the previous meetings, the Lightning took two from hosts Maccabees on Mar. 15, 2018. In the opener, Infielder
Caitlin Vernon went 3-for-4 with a run scored and RBI, while teammate
Tiffany Adames went 1-for-2 with two runs scored in Lehman's 14-1 victory in five innings. In the nightcap, outfielder
Stephany Cruz went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Vernon added a run and an RBI in the 11-2 win.

Also on Tuesday evening, Lehman volleyballers (3-16, 0-4 CUNYAC) will look for its first conference victory of the season against Brooklyn (9-11, 1-4 CUNYAC).
The Lightning have won four of the last six head-to-head matches against the Bulldogs with the last encounter taking place two weeks ago (March 12
th) at Brooklyn's West Quad Gymnasium with the hosts winning in three straight sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-17). Outside hitter
Will Eschenbach led Lehman's offense with 13 kills and nine digs, while middle hitter
Jayson Rodriguez dished out 15 assists with four digs and three kills.
