New York, NY – The Lehman College men's volleyball team (3-18:0-6) fell 3-0 to CCNY (13-4:4-2) on a CUNYAC contest played in Nat Holman Gym on the City College campus. The Beavers prevailed by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-14.
Will Eschenbach and
George Montilla led the Lehman attack with nine and eight kills respectively.
Jayson Rodriguez led the Lightning with 19 assists while Montilla recorded a team high 10 digs.
In the first set the Beavers jumped out to a 6-1 before the Lightning rallied knotting the set at 11. With the Beavers leading 14-13, CCNY went on a 4-0 to pull away capturing the first set 25-18. In the second set with the score tied at 12, the Beavers went on a 6-1 run to take control on the set en route to a 25-20 victory. In the final set, the Beavers jumped out to a 10-5 advantage and owned a 19-14 lead before CCNY scored the final six points of the match.
The Lightning step out of conference play on Saturday with a trip to Pennsylvania to face Cairn and Ramapo in Langhorne, PA.
