Bronx, N.Y. – Two important CUNYAC victories were taken by Lehman College baseball team as it swept a doubleheader (10-2; 14-13) from visiting John Jay College at South Field on Friday. The Lightning improve to 9-20 overall record and 3-5 in CUNYAC, while the Bloodhounds fall to 10-23 mark and 2-6 in conference play.
Lehman took the opener by a score of 10-2 as outfielder
Namir Garcia led the offense with four RBI and two runs scored, while going 2-for-3.
Jarret Oehler pitched a five-hit complete game allowing just two earned runs, while striking out 12 batters for his fourth win of the season.
In the nightcap, John Jay led 13-10 going into the bottom of the seventh, when Lehman exploded with four runs in the bottom half of the inning. After Garcia RBI single that scored outfielder
