The Lehman College baseball fell 11-2 to St. Joseph's University (Brooklyn) in the final non-league game of the season for the Lightning (9-22).
The Bears (14-17-1) posted runs in each of the first four innings to take a 5-0 lead. After a scoreless fifth, St. Joes took control scoring four runs before the Lightning got one back in the bottom half of the inning. Mike Zerbo led off the frame with a single up the middle after two straight walks the Lightning had the bases loaded and no one out. However Lehman was only able to push across one run. The Bears tacked on two runs in the eighth and Lehman was only able to get one back in the bottom of the inning. Lehman was again able to load the bases with no outs but a double play killed the rally.
St. Joes pitchers limited the Lightning to just four hits.
The Lightning return to action on Friday afternoon to host CCNY in their final home games of the season. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2 PM.
