Bronx, N.Y. – Four Lehman College athletic teams will be in action this Saturday as men's tennis side hosts CUNYAC rival Brooklyn College at noon, while softball squad welcomes Baruch College in a conference twin-bill starting at noon and men's/women's outdoor track and field stars will compete in second day at Battleground Relays, hosted by University of Mary Washington.
The Lightning tennis team (0-6; 0-2 CUNYAC) are looking for their first victory of the season as they meet Brooklyn Bulldogs (2-5; 1-1 CUNYAC) at The APEX Courts. Lehman returns to its Bronx home after playing three of its last four matches on the road.
Brooklyn holds a slight 7-6 edge in the head-to-head encounters against Lehman since 2008, however the Lightning have won three of the last five match-ups. The previous encounter took place during the CUNYAC Championship Quarterfinals as the Bulldogs topped visiting Lightning, 5-3.
Ioannis Vasos won his singles and doubles matches, while
Arman Hossain posted a win in his singles encounter.
Also on Lehman campus this Saturday, the softball squad (4-12; 0-0 CUNYAC) begin conference play with a twin-bill against Baruch Bearcats (2-4; 2-2 CUNYAC) at South Field.

The Lightning dropped a pair of non-conference road games (12-4; 8-0) on Wednesday at Sarah Lawrence College, while the Bearcats were also swept (10-0; 21-3) by the same Gryphons but the day before (Tuesday).
Lehman has won four of the last five encounters against Baruch. The previous meeting between the two sides took place at CUNYAC Championships in Staten Island, N.Y. on May 4, 2018, with the Lightning posting an 8-1 win.
Diamond Villegas went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, while pitching a two-hit complete game for the victory.
Rounding out Saturday's action is Lehman's track and field stars competing at Battleground Relays in Fredericksburg, Va.
