Bronx, NY - Weather plagued the today's tennis match with Rutgers-Newark. The match started late after a spot rain shower came through campus. With both teams wanting to play the schools started with three doubles matches.
Leslie Juanacio and
Joanna Rosario got things started for the Lightning capturing third doubles with a win at love. At first doubles,
Lizaveta Markouskaya and
Diwa Rana defeated their opponents 8-3. The final doubles match, in the two spot,
Celine Figueroa and
Yohara Molineros prevailed 8-4.
With sunlight quickly fading, and the Lightning up 3-0, and no chance to finish the singles matches the coaches agreed to put off the singles matches until later this season. A date to finish the match will be announced shortly.
Lehman is scheduled to continue their home stand on Monday afternoon as the Rams of Farmingdale State come to the APEX Courts.
