New York, NY – The Lightning opened up CUNAYC play this afternoon with a tri-match hosted by Hunter College. In the opener Lehman fell in straight sets to the Hawks (25-3, 25-15, 25-8). An hour later the Lightning came out on the short end of a three set decision to Brooklyn (25-8, 25-8, 25-11).
In both matches the Lightning fell behind early and could not get their offense rolling. Against the hosts,
Franchesca Acevedo and Andrea Alacron led the Lightning with two kills apiece.
Heder Rodriguez had a team high five assists and
Ariana Pradieu registered nine digs. Against Brooklyn, Pradieu led the squad with two kills while Rodriguez recorded three assists and Chrissy Tran registered a team high 11 digs.
Lehman returns to action on Wednesday as they host the Valiants of Manhattanville at 7 PM in the APEX.
