Bronx, NY – The Lehman College women's volleyball team fell to Manhattanville in straight sets (25-8, 25-5, 25-11) and now stand at 1-10 on the year. With the victory the Valiants improve to 5-4.
Andrea Alarcon led the Lightning attack with three kills while
Heder Rodriguez added three assists. Chrissy Tran paced the squad with eight digs.
In the first set, Manhattanville jumped out to an 8-1 lead and never looked back. Nursing an eight point lead (12-4) the Valiants ran off eight unanswered points to take control of the set. In the second set, the Valiants jumped out to a 9-1 lead. Still leading 10-4, Manhattanville would score the next 13 points to capture the set. In the third set, the Lightning stayed tough and trailed 13-11 before the Valiants scored the final 12 points of the match.
Both teams are in action tomorrow as Lehman travels to Queens for a conference match with York. The Valiants travel to Manhattan to battle Baruch.
