Box Score Bronx, NY – The Lehman College women's tennis squad defeated Purchase 8-1 on the APEX Courts to improve to 3-0 on the young season. 

Lehman jumped out to 2-0 lead winning at second and third doubles.  The pairing of Celine Figueroa and Cien Estuye topped their opponent 8-3 to give the Lightning the first point of the match.  Moments later the third doubles teams of Joanna Rosario and Leslie Juanacio prevailed 8-1.  In the finals doubles match of the afternoon Purchase got on the board with an 8-6 victory.

The Lightning swept the singles matches.  At # 1 Lizaveta Makouskaya needed three sets to put away her opponent 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.  In the two hole Diwa Rana also needed three sets winning 1-6, 6-1, 6-4.  Figueroa won at third singles 6-3, 6-3 and Rosario at fourth singles 6-1, 6-1.  Estuye playing in the fifth hole also prevailed in three sets.  Juanacio won her match at love playing sixth singles.

The Lightning return to action on Tuesday as they travel to New Jersey to face William Paterson at 4 PM.
