Jamaica, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's and women's swimming team swept a CUNYAC dual meet at York College-NY on Tuesday evening at York College Natatorium with the men's side winning 111-71, while the women's squad triumph 120-57.
The Lightning men (3-5; 1-1 CUNYAC), whom were victorious for the 13 consecutive time against the Cardinals (0-6; 0-3 CUNYAC), were paced by
Cesar Zuniga as he finished first in the 100 Butterfly (1:16.66) and 200 Freestyle (2:33.39), while
Anton Kyrylenko captured the 200 IM (2:41.07).
Juan Rodriguez claimed the top spot in the 100 Freestyle (1:06.27), while
Christopher Ramirez and
Raymond Burdier won the 400 Freestyle (6:25.44) and 800 Freestyle (12:46.18), respectively. Burdier, Kyrylenko Rodriguez and
Rinaldi Hernandez were also on the winning Lehman side in 200 Medley Relay in times of 2:10.51.
The Lightning women (4-5; 1-2 CUNYAC), whom improve to a 13-1 head-to-head record against the Cardinals (0-8; 0-3 CUNYAC) since 2007, were led by
Sarina Eshtiaghi as she won the 200 and 400 Freestyle events at clocking in at 2:26.01 and 5:17.40, respectively.
Christina Hitchman also captured the 100 Freestyle at a time of 1:14.14.
Lehman women return to action on Thursday as it hosts John Jay College in a CUNYAC Dual Meet set for 6 pm.
