Bronx, NY – The Lehman College women's swim team improved to 5-5:2-2 with a 116-87 victory over John Jay (3-4:2-3) in a CUNYAC match-up contested in the APEX Pool.
Lehman jumped out on top taking the top two spots in the 200 yard medley relay. The relay squad of
Arlette Garcia-Estudillo,
Dalquidia Paredes,
Vanessa King and
Samantha Racelis clocked in at 3:12.08. Lehman other relay quartet of
Jayleen Maldonado,
Cailin Chan,
Xhesika Malecaj and
Brandy Forte were six seconds behind. In the 50 freestyle,
Christina Hitchman prevailed touching the wall in 27.65.
Sarina Eshtiaghi easily won the 200 Individual Medley posting a 2:26.95, more than thirty second ahead of her nearest competitor. She followed that up with a first place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:07.31. She also took the top spot in the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:08.16.
Patricia Gonzalez captured gold in the 100 breaststroke out touching a John Jay opponent by less than a second with a time of 1:26.06.
The Lightning return to action on January 21 with a trip to Brooklyn for their final dual match of season.
