Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimming/diving team dropped its regular season finale dual match on the road against CUNYAC rival Brooklyn College on Tuesday at West Quad Pool as men's side lost 126-94, while the women's squad fell 126-94.
The Lightning men conclude the regular season with 3-6 record and 1-2 in CUNYAC, while the women's team drop to 5-6 mark and 2-2 in conference play. Brooklyn men improve to 6-1 ledger and 2-1 in CUNYAC, while the women's side improve to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
The highlights for the Lightning came on the women's side as
Sarina Eshtiaghi won three events: 100 Backstroke (1:06.45), 1000 Freestyle (12:05.00) and 100 Butterfly (1:06.29), while four-team group of
Sheila Davila,
Paola Gonzalez,
Arlette Garcia-Estudillo &
Genesis Ramos captured 200 Freestyle Relay clocking in at 2:25.00.
On the men's side,
Esgardo Castelan claimed first-place in both one, three-meter diving for the Lightning scoring 137.70 and 138.97, respectively, while
Anton Kyrylenko claimed the top spot in 100 Breaststroke in a time of 1:06.02. Kyrylenko was also a member of the winning 200 Freestyle Relay (1:52.13) along-side
Daniel O'Neill,
William Hernandez and
Cesar Zuniga.
Lehman will now prepare to compete and host the CUNYAC Championships next weekend.
