Women’s Basketball Drop CUNYAC Encounter To Medgar Evers

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team dropped a 69-49 CUNYAC encounter at home to Medgar Evers College on Saturday during "Homecoming Weekend" at The APEX Main Gym.  The Lightning fall to 1-17 record and 1-7 in CUNYAC, while the Cougars improve to 3-12 mark and 1-7 in conference play.

Lehman jumped out to a 14-8 lead with 3:12 remaining in the first quarter, however Medgar Evers scored eight consecutive points to take a two point lead (16-14) going into the second period.
 
After Cougars took a 35-29 advantage at halftime, the Lightning battled back in the third quarter and cut the lead to five points (46-41) going into the final 10 minutes of the game.  However, Medgar Evers went on a 23 to 8 run to close out the match.

Guard Fatomata Trawalleh notched a career-high 25 points for Lehman, while forward Nina Gill added 12 points with eight rebounds and five steals.  Forward Eriadna Vasquez also had 12 points with eight boards for the Lightning.

Lehman returns to action next Tuesday (January 28th) when it visits John Jay College in a CUNYAC encounter set for 6 pm.
