New York, NY – The Lehman College men's basketball team fell 87-79 to John Jay (14-5:7-1) in a contest played in the Doghouse on the Bloodhounds campus. With the loss the Lightning now stand at 11-8:6-3.
Isaiah Geathers scored 30 while shooting 11-18 from the field, 3-3 from behind the arc and 5-6 from the foul to lead the Lightning.
Gian Batista added 23 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists.
Tommy Batista chipped in 10 points.
With the score tied at 25, the Bloodhounds went on a 10-0 run over a two minute span to take control of game. John Jay was able to extend the lead to 59-41 at halftime. The Bloodhounds quickly added to their lead scoring the first five points of the second half. However, the Lightning battled back and finally got the deficit to single digits (82-73) with 2:10 remaining. Unfortunately the Lightning ran out of time to complete the comeback.
The Lightning will return to action on Friday as they travel to York for a CUNYAC contact.
