New York, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's basketball team dropped an 84-49 CUNYAC match-up to hosts Baruch College at the ARC Arena on Saturday. The Lightning fall to 14-10 record and 8-5 in CUNYAC, while the Bearcats improve to 15-9 mark and 9-5 in conference play.
The result gave Baruch the #2 seed at the upcoming CUNYAC Championships, while Lehman has secured a home game in the opening round of the conference postseason, however must wait if it has the #3 or #4 seed, with one more game to play in the regular season.
The Bearcats jumped out to a 46-16 advantage at the intermission after shooting 52 percent from the field and 75% from three-point range. The Lightning struggled in the first half shooting just 18 percent from the floor.
In the second half, Lehman improved its shooting from the field and even held Baruch to just 44 percent, however the mountain was too high to climb as hosts went on to a 35-point victory.
