Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team dropped a 75-22 CUNYAC encounter to visiting Brooklyn College at The APEX Main Gym on Tuesday evening. The Lightning fall to 1-20 record and 1-10 in CUNYAC, while the Bulldogs improve to 15-5 mark and a perfect 10-0 in conference play.
A reduced Lehman squad with just five active players on Tuesday held its own against the conference leader holding Brooklyn to just 10 points in the first period. Bulldogs still led by 27 points at the intermission despite shooting 29 percent from the field. Brooklyn pulled away in the last two quarters after going on a 43 to 17 run for the victory.
Guard
Fatomata Trawalleh led the Lightning with eight points and obtained her first block of the season after stopping a layup from a much taller (6'4") Bulldogs center Sarah Labiner late in the fourth period.
Another highlight for Lehman on Tuesday was forward Valeria Rojas who had a career-high seven points, while grabbing eight boards.
The Lightning return to action on Friday when they welcome former CUNYAC Member College of Staten Island at 5 pm.
