Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team fell in three straight sets (25-20, 25-12, 25-19) to visiting Brooklyn College in a non-conference match-up at The APEX Main Gym on Thursday evening. The Lightning drop to 2-4 overall record, while the Bulldogs improve to 4-3 mark.
With the score tied at 12-12 in the first set, Brooklyn went on a 13 to 8 run to take the game. After the Bulldogs took the second set, the Lightning came out leading in the third game 4-2. However, Brooklyn went on another run (23 to 15) to take the match, while notching 30 total team aces and hit 36 kills for a .230 pct.
Mentor Mahmuti and
Peter Veljovic posted four kills each for the Lightning, while
Christian Agudo grabbed 10 digs and
Amari Blake had two solo blocks.
Lehman returns to action this weekend when it travels to Union, N.J. for a tri-match against Messiah College and hosts Kean University on Saturday.
