Bronx, N.Y. – For a second consecutive season, the Lehman College men's soccer claimed the CUNYAC Regular Season Title after defeating visiting CCNY, 5-2, at South Field on Wednesday evening. The Lightning improve to an 8-3-1 overall ledger and 6-1 in CUNYAC, while the Beavers fall to 4-7 mark and 4-2 in conference play.
The victory secures Lehman the number one seed and first-round bye in the CUNYAC Championships. The Lightning will hosts a semifinal game on October 30
th against a yet to be determined opponent.
Lehman got on the board first on Wednesday evening just before halftime when forward
Ebenezer Otoo headed home a throw-in from midfielder
Eduardo Victorio which was one-touched passed by teammate
Mohammad Jagne for the 1-0 lead.
After the Beavers tied the game off a penalty kick tally from forward Nicholas Karkut in 57
th minute-mark, midfielder
Jimmy Lopez scored his first career goal for the Lightning off an assist from Jagne 12 minutes later.

Mubarak Ouro made it 3-1 in favor of Lehman with a tally off another assist from Victorio in 74
th minute, before teammate
Ryuji Sugiyama added his first goal of the campaign less than 20 seconds later.
After Ouro notched his second goal of the game for the Lightning in the 88
th minute-mark, midfielder Konstatine Mendrinos scored for the Beavers with five second remaining.
Lehman is back in action on Saturday when it hosts its regular season finale against non-conference opponent Pratt Institute at South Field with kickoff set for 2 pm ET.
