Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lightning Move Onto the Finals with a 5-1 Victory Over Brooklyn

The Lehman College men's team improved to 10-3-1 with a 5-1 victory over Brooklyn College (5-11) in the CUNYAC Semifinals.

The Lightning fell behind early as the Bulldogs Brian Navarrete tallied in the 19th minutes off a long rebound from the top of the penalty box.  Ten minutes later Mubarak Ouro, the CUNYAC Player of the Year, got the equalizer for the Lightning.  In the 34minute the Lightning took a lead they would not surrender at Ebenezer Otoo  beat the Brooklyn keeper with a right footed shot inside the penalty box.  Peter Adewusi then made it 3-1 when he teamed with Otoo on a give and go in the box.  The score remained 3-1 through the half.  Five minutes into the second half Ouro again found the back of the net as he easily tapped in a cross from Adewusi who took the ball down the left sideline and delivered a perfect pass from the end-line to an unmarked Ouro.  It was Ouro's 14 tally of the season.  Ninety FIve seconds from the final whistle Mohammad Jagne added an insurance goal off of a feed from Otoo.

Lehman netminder Demiraldo Grunasi was called upon to make two saves.  The Lightning out-shot the Bulldogs 17-9 and held an 11-3 advantage in shots on goal.  The Lightning also held a 7-1 advantage in corners.

Lehman will move on to play Baruch in Finals on Saturday at 4:30 PM.  The match will take place at Brooklyn College.  Baruch scored in the 88th minute to defeat CCNY 1-0 to move into the finals.  Earlier this season the Lightning defeated the Bearcats, 4-0.  However, two of those goals were scored in the games final three minutes.
