The Lightning (5-3-1:3-1) got on the board early and often as they defeated York (1-5-1:1-3) 9-3 in a CUNYAC men's soccer match played at Aviator Field in Brooklyn Saturday morning.
Mubarak Ouro, scored his first of goals at the 5:25 mark with a head ball off an assist from
Mohammad Jagne. Fifthteen minutes later the roles were reversed as Jagne scored off of an assist from Ouro. Jagne notched his second of the game in the 30
th minute also assisted by Ouro. Two minutes later Ouro picked up a loose ball in the box to make the score 4-0 at the half. In the second half the Lightning added two more goals off the foot of
Abdul Aminu and Ouro before the Cardinals were able to get on the scoreboard in the 63
rd minute. The Lightning answered with three more goals from Ouro, Aminu and Georgiios Tsano to take a 78-1 lead with 20 minutes to play.
The Lightning out-shot the Cardinals 30-9 and dominated on corner kicks 8-1.
The last time the Lightning scored nine goals was in 2013 when they defeated St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) 9-1.
Lehman will continue it's four game road trip with a pair of key CUNYAC matches at John Jay (Wednesday) and Baruch (Saturday). Wednesday match will be played at Randall's Island (field 83) with a 4 PM kick-off.
