Mojisola Shokeye scored a team high 13 points but it wasn't enough as the Lightning fell 60-50 to St. Mary's (MD) in a non-conference game this afternoon.
Brianna Barnes registered a double double for Lehman (1-5) scoring 10 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Barnes was also credited with a career high nine steals.
The teams were tied at 12 after the first quarter. The Seahawks () scored the final ten points of the second half to take a 30-21 lead into the locker room. In the third quarter the Seahawks extended their lead outscoring the Lightning 13-9. In the final quarter the Lightning were able to trim the lead to four, 45-41 after Barnes made a pair of foul shots with 4:46. However, the Lightning would not get any closer as the Seahawks would go on a 7-0 run to push the lead back to double figures. St. Mary's made 4-6 foul shots down the stretch to secure the victory.
The Lightning will play their first home game of the season on Tuesday night as they host USMMA at 7 PM.
