Lightning Tennis Previals 6-3 in Home Opener

The Lehman College Women's Tennis team returned to the Apex Center for the first time in nearly 2 years for its home opener against Sarah Lawrence College. The Lightning prevailed 6-3.

Senior Captain Joanna Rosario and freshman newcomer Viola Avdyli got the ball rolling in Lehman's favor with an 8-1 win at first doubles. Rosario and Avdyli brought the Lightning two steps closer to clinching with wins at first and second singles. The clincher came from freshman Rita Rosario with a 6-0, 6-2 win at 3rd singles earning her the game ball.

Lehman returns to action on Friday against its first CUNYAC opponent of the year, Baruch College, at the National Tennis Center. First serve is at 3pm.
