Lightning Drop Conference Openr

The Lehman College women's tennis team took to the APEX courts on Tuesday afternoon to face their first CUNYAC opponent of the year, John Jay College. The Lightning again saw wins at the top doubles and singles spot, but fell to the Bloodhounds, 7-2.

Senior captain Joanna Rosario and partner, freshman Viola Avdyli, won 8-2 at #1 doubles. Avdyli also won at the top singles spot, 6-1, 7-5. The rest of the matches went the way of John Jay, with Joanna Rosario dropping #2 singles 6-0, 6-4 and freshman Rita Rosario falling 6-2, 6-2 at #3 singles. The loss moves Lehman to 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in CUNYAC play.

The Lightning return to action on Saturday against CUNYAC opponent Hunter College. Technically a Hunter home match, first serve is scheduled for 12 PM at the APEX.
