Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimming team split a CUNYAC Dual Meet against visiting Brooklyn College as the men's side won 77-65, while the women's squad dropped a 95-45 decision on Tuesday evening at The APEX Pool.
The Lightning men (2-5; 1-1 CUNYAC) were led by
Carlos Alonso who finished first in the 200 Freestyle (2:17.26) and was part of the winning 200 Medley Relay side (2:22.39) along with
Andres Estrella, Luis Ramos and
Gerald Cepeda. Cepeda and Estrella also claimed gold in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke clocking in at 1:09.12 and 1:15.47, respectively.
The Lehman women (2-6-; 0-2 CUNYAC) was highlighted by Elizabeth DeLaCruz and
Ofelia Valadez as they took first place in the 200 Freestyle (3:06.55) and 100 Freestyle (1:11.34).
The Lightning are in preparations for hosting the CUNYAC Championships at The APEX Pool at the end of the month.
