The Lehman men's soccer team shutout CCNY 4-0 earlier this evening on Randall's Island to secure a first-round bye in the upcoming CUNYAC post season tournament. With the victory the Lightning stand at 8-4-2 overall and 6-1 in the conference. CCNY falls to 2-7-1 overall and 2-4 in CUNYAC and will have to play an opening round game in the tournament next Wednesday against an opponent to be determined.
Butrious Baah, scored his first collegiate goal in the 18
th minute to give the Lightning a lead they would not surrender. Baah headed the ball home off a corner kick delivered by
Kevin Umanzor. Lehman doubled their advantage nine minutes from half time off the right foot of
Mubarak Ouro. In the second half,
Phillip Osei scored twice, in the 77
th and 80
th minute to put the game out of reach. Osei now leads the Lightning with seven goals.
Adrian Magana Santos picked up the win in goal and was credited with three saves. Lehman out shot the Beavers 17-4 and owned a 5-2 advantage in corners.
The Lightning, the number two seed in the upcoming tournament, will host a semifinal on Saturday, October 29.
