Pleasantville, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's and women's swimming teams commence its season against Division II squads of Pace and Felician University, respectively, at Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness & Recreation Center on Saturday.
The Lightning were paced by rookie
Hallester Jimenez who, in only his first collegiate competition, claimed gold in three individual men's events: 50 Backstroke (25.89), 100 Backstroke (56.14) and 100 Butterfly (55.81). The Bronx native was also on the silver medal squad during the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:57.38 along with
Romulo Valadez,
Andres Estrella, and
Christopher Ramirez. Those same four claimed bronze in the 400 Freestyle Relay clocking in at 4:05.10.
On the women's side,
Arlene Suzana captured the bronze medal for Lehman in the 50 Backstroke (31.10). Suzana had a personal best in the 50 Freestyle (27.76) and 100 Freestyle (1:00.43).
Ofelia Valadez also clocked in 33.04 and 1:27.10 in the 50 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke, respectively, for the Lightning.
Lehman women will commence CUNYAC play next month (November 16
th) when it hosts Hunter College.
