Phoenixville, Pa. – In three straight sets (25-11, 25-17, 25-19) the Lehman College women's volleyball team defeated hosts University of Valley Forge in a non-conference match-up at the UVF Gymnasium on Tuesday. The Lightning improve to a 2-8 overall record, while the Patriots fall to a 2-10 mark.
After taking the first two games, Lehman trailed early (2-1) against Valley Forge, however, the Lightning went on a 24-17 run to take the set and end a six-match losing streak this season.
Outside hitter
Selena Mitchell led the offense for Lehman with six kills, five service aces and seven digs, while teammate Daira Hernandez had four kills and four blocks. Setter
Heder Rodriguez dished out eight assists with 10 digs.
The Lightning are back in action on Thursday when they host a pair of non-conference encounters at The APEX Main Gym against Saint Elizabeth University and Medgar Evers College.
