Box Score 2 Bronx, N.Y. – For the first time since 2015 season, the Lehman College women's volleyball team has a three-match winning streak after posting consecutive non-conference victories against Saint Elizabeth University and Medgar Evers College on Thursday evening at The APEX Main Gym.
The Lightning (4-8) opened the evening with three-set triumph (25-11, 25-12, 25-16) over the Eagles of Saint Elizabeth. Outside hitter
Selena Mitchell led the way for Lehman with six kills and six digs, while teammate Daira Hernandez had seven service aces and setter
Heder Rodriguez dished out 11 assists and grabbed seven digs.
In the nightcap, the Lightning posted another three-set win (25-10, 25-17, 25-22) over Medgar Evers Cougars (1-11). After taking the first two sets, Lehman trailed early on in third, 4-3. However, the Lightning went on a 22-18 run to capture the match.
Hernandez paced the Lightning offense with nine kills, six digs and five aces, while Mitchell added six kills and five digs. Rodriguez had 19 assists, six digs and three digs, while outside
Andrea Alarcon notched four kills with three assists and four aces.
Lehman is back in action when travels to Manhattan for two
CUNYAC match-ups on Saturday (October 8th) as it takes on Brooklyn College and hosts Baruch College.
