The Lehman College women's basketball squad traveled up to Amherst, MA to take on perennial power Amherst in a non-conference tilt on Saturday afternoon. Lehman's
Brianna Barnes scored 30 points while grabbing 11 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Lehman dropped the contest 68-42. The Mammoths remain unbeaten (7-0) while Lehman falls to 2-5.
The Lightning hung tough during the first half. Lehman trailed 19-16 after the first quarter and were outscored 17-13 in the second to go into the locker room at half time 36-29. However in the third quarter, Lehman could not buy a basketball as the Lehman shooters went ice cold shooting 1-16 during the quarter. Lehman was unable to make a serious comeback in the games final quarter.
The Lightning will return to action on Monday with a contest at the USMMA. Lehman will return home Monday night to face FDU-Madison at 5 PM in the APEX.
